Admissions
A Welcome from the Proprietress
This is your guide to the official process for admitting and enrolling new students at Sunset Montessori School. Our goal is to ensure a process that is fair, transparent, and welcomes families who are a good fit for our school's Montessori philosophy and values.
We believe deeply in our qualified staff and our authentic Montessori environment's ability to nurture each child's potential. Our admissions process is designed to be a positive, collaborative partnership with parents from the very first day.

Our Admissions Process
Step 1: Inquiry & Application Form
Parents may inquire via our school support lines or website. The official Application Form can be downloaded or picked up from the Administration Office. A non-refundable Application Fee is required.
Step 2: Submission & Family Meeting
The parent must submit the completed Application Form, all required documents (see list below), and proof of payment to the Administration Office. This will be followed by a "Family Meeting" with the Administration.
Step 3: Child Assessment
For applicants to the Children's House, Primary, and JHS programmes (ages 3+), a short, friendly assessment and classroom observation will be scheduled.
Step 4: Offer & Enrolment
If accepted, the parent will be issued a formal Admission Letter. To secure the child's spot, the parent must pay the one-time, non-refundable Enrolment Fee and the first term's tuition fees.

Student Code of Conduct
This policy outlines the expectations for student behaviour. At Sunset Montessori, we guide children toward self-discipline based on our three core values:
- Respect for Self: Pride in your work, appearance, and health.
- Respect for Others: Kindness, polite language, and respecting personal space.
- Respect for the Environment: Caring for materials and cleaning up after oneself.
A full Parent-Student Handbook (which includes this code of conduct) is available from the Administration Office. Adherence to these policies is essential for creating a safe, fair, and excellent learning environment for all our children.
Policy on Fees, Books & Uniforms
Tuition & Fees Policy
All termly fees must be paid in full on or before the first day that the child attends school for the new term. Parents facing genuine financial difficulty must communicate with the Administration Office before the deadline to discuss a potential payment plan.
Failure to pay fees by the start of the third week will result in the student being suspended from class until the account is paid in full.
Payment Methods
We accept payment via Bank Deposit, Mobile Money (MoMo), or Cash paid in person at the Administration Office. Please use your child's unique School ID Number as the payment reference.
Uniforms & Books
To ensure quality and uniformity, all official uniform items must be purchased directly from the school's Administration Office. Items not purchased from the school are not permitted.
Information on required textbooks will be provided upon enrolment.
Start an Admission Enquiry
Send us a few details and the Administration Office will get back to you with the application form, the current fee schedule, and the next available date to visit. There is no obligation, and an enquiry is not an application.
